Creating a Fall Landscape
with Rita LeDuc
Paul (and Rita) LeDuc, a regional nature landscape artist with years of both painting and teaching experience, will be leading 3 (three) new series of Water-Mixable Oil Painting Classes during winter 2025. This class is for painters of all levels. Each series wil be devoted to creating a different landscape scene over a course of 3 (three) consecutive and progressive weekly, three hour class. The focus will be on creating the background, mid- ground, and the foreground. The first class of each series will begin with an introductory gallery tour to note and discuss examples of artistic elements needed in landscape paintings.
The remainder of the classroom time will be devoted to demonstrations of methods and techniques for each series' painting. There will be individualized held and guidance along the way. Use of water-mixable oils is a great way to learn oil painting skills without exposure to traditional organic solvents.
Participation is limited to 12 students for each series. If registration exceeds 12, a waiting list will be constructed giving those on the waitlist first priority for the next series.
Paint and supplies will be provided for each series. At the end of the series, participants will take home the artwork they created. In lieu of class fees, participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item (s) for the local foodshelf.
All participants will have the opportunity to display thier completed artwork in CCA's gallery in the fall of 2025.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropritation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.
